Before I began SWAiNSONG I was co-founder of Sleeps Under Beams along with my collaborative partner, Drew Campbell, now of Subscotia Music, who still works with me (I'm thrilled to say). Both lovers of alternative music, we drew inspiration from artist like The Cure, Joy Division, Bowie, and Depeche Mode, as we pursued that great 80's music vibe. “Brought the House Down” was one of the songs that we wrote together during that time and though I was totally happy with it, Drew felt it needed a bit more oomph so he completely redid it and the results, in my humble opinion, were worth the redo.
SWAiNSONG'S “Vacant” is actually a slower, softer, more melancholic version of “Brought the House Down” which is faster, pulsating, and intense, with the lead vocals of Grant Tuffs, an amazing singer from the UK.
